The goal of this program is to provide the client with a roadmap and journey for their upgrade from Skype to Business to Microsoft Teams. The engagement focusses on assessing the current infrastructure, examining use cases and identifying blockers in order to achieve the desired end state of migrating to Microsoft Teams.
This is ideal for clients that are already only running Instant Messaging in Skype for Business Server or Skype for Business Online and are ready to begin planning the upgrade to Microsoft Teams.
Engagement Scope
The scope of the Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams Upgrade engagement is to perform a detailed analysis of the client’s current environment, including user personas, networking, and workloads.
The objective is to jointly create a customised, prioritised and actionable upgrade plan to move users from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams for Chat and Collaboration workloads.
Performing User Persona Assessment
The user persona assessment, built on eight core personas commonly found in businesses, helps you categorise your users based on their communication and collaboration requirements. This helps you narrow down the list of users you’ll select for the pilot as you plan for your broad rollout of Teams over time.
ADVANCED - Upgrade And Coexistence Of Skype For Business And Teams
Microsoft Teams, a chat-based workspace for modern collaboration, delivers communications capabilities such as private chat and calling, ad-hoc and scheduled modern meetings, audio conferencing, and public switched telephone network (PSTN) calling; ultimately, Teams provides a complete communications and collaboration solution.
If your business has an existing Skype for Business deployment and intends to upgrade to Teams, you can start the journey by letting users discover Teams themselves and organically adopt Teams alongside Skype for Business. Or, you might decide to manage the journey by gradually introducing Teams capabilities until your business is ready to upgrade everyone to Teams.
Throughout the journey, you can gradually control your users’ experience, ranging from using both Teams and Skype for Business, to using Teams for group collaboration only and Skype for Business for unified communications, to upgrading a select group of your users to an interoperable Teams-only experience.
You may be eligible for Microsoft funding support to complete this workshop. We can find out if you qualify.
As part of our initial free engagement we will advise you of benefits you may not have considered.
